  • Cast Nylons Ltd.
  • Cope Plastics, Inc.
  • Curbell Plastics, Inc.
  • Interstate Advanced Materials
  • Piedmont Plastics
  • Professional Plastics, Inc.
  • Vycom

Silver Award status:

Environmental Excellence Awards
The Environmental Impact Award recognizes a branch location or facility that has taken extraordinary measures to demonstrate environmental sustainability. The 2023 Environmental Impact Award recipient is Vycom.

The Vycom Recycling Program collects and recycles rigid PVC, acrylic and PE products for use in the company’s internal products. Vycom targeted this segment because it saw the growing need in a market that was previously served by third-party material gatherers who would offshore or landfill the recycling component.

Understanding that signage and graphics exhibitions are notable users of short-term rigid PVC and
acrylic, Vycom began working with show organizers to offer recycling services to exhibitors using rigid PVC and acrylic sheets. Vycom placed collection bins in select exhibitors’ booths to collect scrap and trim generated during their demonstrations. The program was promoted by Vycom across social media channels and has proven to be a welcome service for exhibitors and show organizers. As of April 2023, the tally of material collected was more than 6,500 pounds from three shows over a one-year period.

IAPD congratulates all award recipients and encourages all members, as well as all performance plastics companies, to learn more about the environmental sustainability of performance plastics at www.iapd.org.
